Hi everyone, my name is Amanda Renee Clark. It may seem like a fairly ordinary name, but let me warn you, I am not your normal young adult. :-) For instance, I think science and math are fun and I especially have a passion for organic chemistry.
I have two older brothers, who I miss very much while I am away at college. I do not keep in touch with my family enough, we are all so busy with life, but I know they are there for me when I need them. I really miss my parents, they are both deceased, but I have so many supportive friends and family that help me move forward in life. I must take a moment to thank all who have touched my life and helped shape me to be the young lady that I am today. My high school best friends, Rachael and Jamie both help keep me sane, even though distance has separated us since graduation. I have many teachers that I would like to thank for my science (and life) inspiration, but I will keep their names private.
For fun, I enjoy all forms of music, such as the radio and musicals. If you aren't familiar with "Wicked", the title of my blog comes from that musical. "Wicked" is my favorite musical and I enjoy the books. This leads to my favorite past time, reading. I fantasy and science fiction are my favorite genres, but I am getting into scientific novels and slightly academic books. I am not much of a sports fan, but I enjoy volley ball (I am really bad at playing though). In high school I played flute and piccolo and enjoyed marching band (that was my sport- hahaha!). I also learned trombone and clarinet my senior year.
I love science and math, with my main obsessions being with Einstein, Pi, and chemistry. I love coffee! It's okay to say that I am not normal- I do take pride in being "weird". ;-) I hope I can entertain you if you choose to follow my blog. This is beginning as a requirement for the McNair Scholars Program, but I may continue it to follow my journey to my terminal degree. Thanks for reading! :-)
